A total of seven deaths have been reported due to the West Nile virus, with three recent deaths in Lazio and Campania. Dozens of people are hospitalized and one patient is in critical condition in Sardinia. Temporary restrictions on blood donations have been implemented in 31 provinces, including Rome, Naples, Turin, and Venice, in addition to disinfection campaigns.
