Alerts in Congo
The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) is experiencing an Ebola virus disease outbreak in Kasai Province, a remote area with limited transportation networks. While this reduces the immediate risk of spread to other regions, it significantly hinders response teams’ access due to impassable roads and natural barriers. As of September 10, 2025, 58 cases (suspected or confirmed) and 20 deaths have been reported, including 4 among healthcare workers. To date, no cases have been reported outside the DRC.
As of 28 Oct 2023, the Africa CDC reported a total of 2779 yellow fever cases, and 36 deaths have been reported in 7 African Union countries this year. The impacted countries are: Cameroon (41 cases; 4 deaths), CAR (326; 5), Congo (324; 2), Gabon (79; 0), Guinea (178; 4), Nigeria (1,819; 21), and Uganda (12; 0).
