Vietnam health authorities reported 106 cases of measles in Ho Chi Minh City the week of August 25, an increase of almost 54% compared to the previous 4-week average. The total number of suspected cases of measles spotted fever accumulated since the beginning of the year is 644. Binh Tan, Binh Chanh and Hoc Mon districts recorded a high number of cases.
There is an outbreak of diphtheria in several provinces in Vietnam. All travelers 2 months and older traveling to outbreak areas should receive an age-appropriate dose of a diphtheria toxoid-containing vaccine if they are not fully vaccinated or if they have not received a booster dose within 5 years prior to departure
